City Offers Electronics Recycling and More on November 10
(Longview, TX) In recognition of “Texas Recycles Day,” the City of Longview Sanitation Department has scheduled the first annual Longview Recycles Day event from 9:00 a.m. – Noon, Saturday, November 10, 2012. The event will take place in the west parking lot of the Longview Mall, 3500 McCann Rd. Longview Recycles Day is free and open to all. The event will also include free popcorn, hot chocolate, and other giveaways.
On the morning of Saturday, November 10 only, the public is invited to bring motor oil, plastic bags, batteries, ink cartridges and certain electronic equipment to drop-off containers located in the west parking lot of the Longview mall.
Examples of items which will be accepted for electronic recycling include: computers, CRT monitors, flat screen LCD’s, microwaves, networking equipment (servers & cabinets), telecommunications equipment, phone systems/cell phones, video and audio equipment, power supply units, connectors, wire, cables, printed circuit boards, computer cards, printers, and ink cartridges. State law requires manufacturers that offer for sale new computer equipment in or into Texas to offer consumers a free recycling program and be on the TCEQ list of computer-equipment manufacturers.
